And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is
anything worth more than your soul? ~Matthew 16:26 (NLT)
It seems as though I come in contact with more and more individuals who live their lives under the premise of “conditional morals”. Yes, you read correctly. As if there is such a thing.
I believe the part that bothers me most about this occurrence is that many people who live by “anything goes” or “it’s okay, if I do it just this once,” are many who allow “the Jesus’ piece” (a name selected by Hip-Hop for a cross/image of Christ) to dangle from their necks; or those who call themselves believers.
The sad part of it all is the perversion of the Body of Christ as a result and the tainted image that is portrayed to those who don’t know Christ for themselves. Don’t get me wrong, I by no means am suggesting that all who claim Christ, Our Lord, as the true risen Savior, are true followers or believers,
See, Luke 13: 22-27 below:
He said to them, 24“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
“But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
26“Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
27“But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’
Whew take that in for a moment…
but I am saying that those who know better, should in fact, do better. It is important for the Kingdom of God to remember that we should be set a part and that we are a peculiar people, this directly indicates that we should not follow what the world is doing, but we should instead be trailblazers to direct the lost back to the heart of God.
See: 1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for
his own; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of
darkness into his marvelous light: (KJV)
also see: Matthew 5:13
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it
be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out
and trampled by men. (NIV)
It is time out for the games.
For time is something that is definitely not on our side, as it continues to move forward whether we feel ready or not. As you continue your journey on this earth, remember it is your (our) responsibility to uphold the bloodstained banner and raise the standard.
Never should you feel pressured to succumb to the standard of the world.
Never should you strive to be like the world, for God’s word says so.
So now today, stand up, wholeheartedly to be the man or woman that God has called you to be!
God Bless & Happy New Year!
