I was Brushing my Teeth & Painting my Nails

nail-polish

This morning I was brushing my teeth and all of a sudden I had the nerve to try to paint my nails. This occurrence only brought me to realize that this action is impossible with only two hands. For every moment that I attempted to touch the polish, I was no longer brushing my teeth. This action provided a perfect metaphor about the detriment in “so-called” multi-tasking.

And yes as I exist in modern society as you do, I know that the art of multi-tasking is a notion that is ever-present, but it is not conducive to the ability to making adequate progress. Even something as simple as watching television while trying to type a paper on your computer is ineffective. You are hindered from focusing completely on either task.

If you have a long laundry list of goals that you desire to complete, realize today that focusing on one and one only at a time, will allow you to make more immediate gains and see fruit versus only the planting of several seeds.

If you have a brain like me, you are blessed to have tons of new ideas and projects on your mind daily. Well, I recall once hearing the Holy Spirit say, “All ideas are not for today, I have given you food so that you can eat for a lifetime.” This translates as, WRITE IT DOWN and WRITE IT DOWN AGAIN!

Most recently one of my best girlfriends reminded me that it was time for me to start some new vision boards, so that I could keep God’s vision for my new seasons directly in front of me.

My life is a clear testament to Habakkuk 2:2-4 (NLV) which tells us:

2 Then the Lord answered me and said, “Write down the special dream on stone so that one may read it in a hurry. 3 For it is not yet time for it to come true. The time is coming in a hurry, and it will come true. If you think it is slow in coming, wait for it. For it will happen for sure, and it will not wait. 4 As for the proud one, his soul is not right in him. But the one who is right and good will live by his faith.

With the proper tools in place, nothing can keep you from accomplishing the will of God for your life!

So go ahead, what are you waiting for choose the task that you are ordained to complete to day, and RUN FOR IT!

Blessings & Peace my Friends!
